Corsica is calling, and you’d like comfortable accommodation beneath the pines without giving up the freedom of camping. That’s exactly what a mobile home offers: a real home from home in the heart of nature, a stone’s throw from the sea. Here’s everything you need to know before booking your mobile home in Corsica.
Why choose a mobile home for your holiday in Corsica?
Somewhere between a tent and a resort hotel, the mobile home holds a place all of its own. It offers what few kinds of accommodation can promise at the same time: being right next to nature, outdoor living, the scent of the pines and cicadas singing when you wake up — and, at the same time, genuine comfort, a proper kitchen, a private bathroom and a bed worthy of the name.
In Corsica, that balance takes on a special flavour. The sun beats down hard in July and August. Being able to step into a cool space, prepare a simple meal with produce from the Ghisonaccia market, and let the children fall asleep in their own bunks while you finish a drink on the terrace — that’s what many families describe to us as “the best of both worlds”.
At U Casone, our mobile homes are nestled in extensive wooded grounds, beneath a canopy of umbrella pines and holm oaks that creates precious natural shade. We’re 700 metres from the sea, on Corsica’s east coast, in a setting where nature isn’t a backdrop: it’s everyday life.
The different types of accommodation available at U Casone
We don’t offer just one type of mobile home — because every family, every stay and every budget deserves a different answer. Here’s an overview of what awaits you.
🏠 Classic mobile homes
Spacious and well equipped, with a covered terrace. Ideal for families who want the comfort of a holiday apartment in the heart of the campsite. Fitted kitchen, bathroom, 2 to 3 bedrooms depending on the model.
🌿 Wooden lodges
A more natural, cosy version, with wooden finishes that blend perfectly into U Casone’s woodland setting. For those who want solid accommodation with soul.
⭐ Luxury lodges
The height of comfort on our campsite. Top-of-the-range fittings, a panoramic terrace, superior-quality bedding. For a Corsican stay you’ll remember for a long time.
🏕️ Chalets
Solid, well-designed accommodation with everything you need for a successful family stay. Beautifully integrated into the landscape, with a wooden terrace and generous living space.
💡 U Casone tip: if it’s your first stay at our campsite and you’re torn between types of accommodation, contact us directly. We know them inside out — we’ll be able to advise you according to the size of your family, your habits and the time of your stay.
Mobile home or tent: how to choose?
It’s a question that comes up often, and a fair one. If you love camping in its most authentic form — pitching your tent, sleeping close to the ground, hearing the rain (when it comes) — our large pitches of 100 m² and more are made for you. The shade of the pines, the soft ground, the generous space: camping at U Casone is camping the way it always should be.
But if you’re coming as a family with young children, if you need a proper bathroom every morning, if you’re staying for two or three weeks and want things to run more smoothly day to day — then the mobile home is the natural choice. No putting up, no taking down, no sleeping bags to air. You drop your bags and enjoy yourself.
The truth is, both options have their own beauty. And some families do both: a week in a mobile home to unwind on arrival, then a few nights under canvas at the end of the stay for the more adventurous.

The location: why the east coast changes everything
Corsica has two faces: the west coast, spectacular and famous, often packed in summer. And the east coast, more understated and wilder, with its long fine sandy beaches fringed by pine woods and its calm waters. That’s where we are.
Ghisonaccia is a name few people know before their first stay — and one everyone remembers afterwards. An authentic Corsican village without any showing off, surrounded by farmland, pine forests and a sea whose blue always comes as a bit of a surprise. 700 metres from the campsite, the beach stretches for kilometres in both directions, often without crowds, even in high season.
From U Casone, everything is within reach: the Étang de Diane for a tasting of Corsican oysters, Corte and its spectacular gorges an hour’s drive away, the legendary beaches of Porto-Vecchio an hour and a quarter away, the Fiumorbo gorges for a mountain hike. The campsite is the perfect base camp for exploring every side of the island.
🌸 May – June
Corsica in flower, the maquis in full bloom, the sea gently warming up. Fewer people, the best prices, a rare gentleness.
☀️ July – August
High season in all its splendour. Guaranteed sunshine, a turquoise sea, campsite life in full swing. Booking early is essential.
🍂 September – October
Our favourite month. The sea still warm, the campsite peaceful, a golden light that exists nowhere else. Ideal for couples and older travellers.
Our tips for booking your mobile home in Corsica
Booking a mobile home in Corsica isn’t something to leave to the last minute — especially if you’re aiming for July or the first weeks of August. Here’s what we see year after year.
Book early, very early
The most sought-after accommodation — Luxury lodges, safari tents, Wooden lodges — is often snapped up as early as January or February for high season. If you have specific dates in mind and a particular type of accommodation, don’t let time slip by. Booking early also often means the best prices.
Choose the right time of year
If you’re flexible, June and September are extraordinary months. The sea is already warm (or still warm), the campsite is running nicely without being overcrowded, and prices are noticeably more affordable. The atmosphere is often more relaxed, more family-friendly and more authentically Corsican, too.
Think about the ferry crossing
Most of our guests arrive by sea — from Marseille, Nice or Toulon. Crossings fill up fast in summer, sometimes even before the accommodation does. If you’re coming with your car or motorhome, book the crossing at the same time as your stay with us, or even before.
Work out the overall budget
A mobile home in Corsica is a major item in your holiday budget — but you also need to plan for the ferry (car + passengers), fuel or a hire car on the island, meals (some evenings you eat at U Casone’s restaurant, others you cook), and activities. We have a dedicated article on the family holiday budget in Corsica if you’d like to go further.
💡 U Casone tip: our restaurant, pizzeria and snack bar are open throughout the season. Alternating home cooking with meals on site is often the best way to enjoy camping at your own pace — no pressure, no endless planning.
Everyday life in a mobile home at U Casone
We love this question, because it gets to the heart of something essential: what does a real holiday day with us actually look like?
The morning often starts with the sound of cicadas and the smell of coffee brewing on the terrace. The pines create gentle shade from the very first hours. The children wake up and are already asking whether the pool is open. The answer is yes.
The morning is spent between the pool and the beach — on foot or by bike, the beach is 700 metres away along a shady path. In the afternoon, the more energetic head off on an excursion. The others read. Some take a kayak out on the canal, ten minutes after lunch.
Evening falls slowly over Corsica. The light turns golden, almost liquid, as if the sun were reluctant to leave. You settle in at the pizzeria or the restaurant. You order a board of Corsican charcuterie, a pizza, a glass of muscat. And someone at the table says what everyone is thinking: “We should stay longer.”
That’s a mobile home stay at U Casone. No all-inclusive package, no set programme. Just freedom, comfort, and Corsica all around you.
