Heading to Corsica with teenagers is quite a challenge: getting them to look up from their screens long enough to taste the salt of the sea, breathe in the scent of sun-warmed maquis and enjoy that slightly wild freedom you only find on the Isle of Beauty. The good news? Between kayaking, canyoning, boat trips and long days on the sand, the east coast leaves no room for boredom.
If you’re looking for activities for teenagers in Corsica this summer, the Ghisonaccia area, home to our campsite, is the perfect playground. Here, the mountains are never far from the sea, the beaches stretch as far as the eye can see, and sporting activities multiply as soon as the temperature rises. Teenagers need thrills, independence and a little adrenaline: the east coast ticks every box, without hours spent in the car. From our campsite, just 700 metres from the sea, everything is within reach by bike, by kayak or after a short drive.
In our big house — because U Casone means precisely “the big house” in Corsican — we welcome families every summer who were a little apprehensive about this trip with their older children, and who leave with sun-soaked teenagers already feeling nostalgic. Here’s how we keep them busy, from morning to sunset.
Kayaking on the canal: the adventure starts at the campsite
If there’s one activity teenagers love here, it’s kayaking. From our campsite, all it takes is a walk down to the canal, paddle in hand, to set off on a little expedition that feels like the real thing. The canal winds along in the shade, beside a path lined with greenery, before gently reaching the sea. For a teenager, it’s the promise of a full-scale adventure that begins just a few metres from the tent.
We offer kayak rental right on site: €15 for a single or €20 for a double per half day. Enough to let two siblings head off together, or one teen set off alone to explore the banks at their own pace. No instructor, no strict timetable: just the freedom to paddle, stop on a sandbank, dive in, then set off again. It’s exactly the kind of independence teenagers crave.
💡 U Casone tip: suggest your teens set off early in the morning, when the canal is as smooth as a mirror and the cicadas are only just starting to sing. The light is soft, the heat still bearable, and the experience all the more magical.
Canyoning, via ferrata, boat trips: the big thrills
When you’re fifteen, you want adrenaline. And Corsica, with its mountains plunging into the sea, has plenty of it. Less than an hour from our campsite, the hinterland is full of perfect spots for thrill-seeking activities, led by local professionals who know how to talk to young people.
Canyoning
Making your way down a canyon by jumping into pools of clear water and sliding down natural rock chutes: canyoning is the star activity for teenagers in Corsica. Several sites within reach of the east coast offer routes suited to beginners and daredevils alike.
Boat trips
From the nearby harbours, boat excursions head to coves you can’t reach on foot. Swimming in turquoise water, mask and snorkel above the rocky seabed: enough to turn a blasé teen into a wide-eyed explorer.
River hiking
Half swimming, half walking, making your way upriver in the Corsican valleys is a fun way to discover the cool of mountain streams, far from the heat of the plain.
Via ferrata
Clipped to the rock face, helmet on, teens make their way along routes secured with cables. Guaranteed vertigo — and immense pride once they reach the top.
These activities are easy to book once you’re here. We know the local providers well and are always happy to point our guests towards the ones we trust. Don’t hesitate to ask us at reception: nothing beats advice from someone who knows the area.
Snorkelling, paddleboarding and diving: the sea as a playground
The sea, 700 metres from our pitches, is of course the number one attraction. But to hold a teenager’s attention, it’s best to offer something more than simply lounging on a towel. The east coast lends itself wonderfully to gentle water sports.
Snorkelling is perfect for the curious: a mask, a snorkel, and a whole world opens up beneath the surface. The rocky seabeds of the east coast are home to colourful fish, sea urchins and the occasional lovely surprise. Stand-up paddleboarding appeals to those who like to test their balance — and laugh as they fall in. For the most enthusiastic, several clubs in the area offer try-dives from the teenage years, an experience that creates memories for life.
📍 Did you know? Corsica’s east coast often enjoys calmer seas than the west coast, with long, gently sloping sandy beaches. A real advantage for enjoying water sports with complete peace of mind, even for teens who are still beginners.

At the campsite: plenty to keep them busy without going anywhere
Not every day is made for big expeditions. Some mornings, your teens will just want to hang around, meet other young people their age and enjoy the campsite. And that’s just as well: here, there’s plenty to do without ever leaving the gate.
Beach volleyball
Our volleyball court is where teenagers gather in the late afternoon. Teams form spontaneously, laughter rings out, and holiday friendships are often born around a net.
Table tennis & table football
Perfect for impromptu tournaments between friends, especially in the hottest hours when everyone is looking for a spot of shade. The friendly rivalry can last for hours.
Pétanque
A Corsican classic! Under the pines, a game of pétanque brings all generations together. You’d be surprised how quickly your teens get hooked.
Our two swimming pools
Between activities, the pools are the ideal place to cool off, meet up with friends and pass the time without anyone getting bored.
And then there’s the atmosphere, quite simply. A family campsite like ours is a place where teenagers rediscover a freedom they don’t always have at home: popping to the mini-market for bread, meeting up at the pool, cycling off to the beach with friends. This supervised independence, away from traffic and in a natural setting, reassures parents as much as it delights young people.
The evenings: teenagers’ favourite time
Ask a teenager for their best memory of a camping holiday and chances are they’ll tell you about the evenings. As the sun goes down and the heat eases, our campsite takes on a special atmosphere. The lights come on softly, the smell of pizza wafts through the air, and the young ones get together.
Our pizzeria and restaurant are the perfect meeting places for an evening with friends or family. A good pizza fresh from the oven, shared at a table between a teen and their new holiday friends, is priceless. Once a week, our restaurant also hosts a themed evening — moules-frites, paella or spit-roast veal — that brings the whole campsite together in a friendly, thoroughly Corsican atmosphere.
The bar, open all season, is where the evening carries on: a fresh juice, an ice cream, a few games of table football while the parents savour the calm of the night. It’s in these simple moments that holidays take on their full meaning.
💡 U Casone tip: give your teens a little slack in the evenings. A safe, family campsite like ours is the ideal setting to grant them that bit of extra freedom they keep asking for — while keeping your mind at rest.
Beyond the campsite: day trips
For a change of scene, a few day trips are well worth it and can win over even the hardest to please. Here are our favourite suggestions, all within reach of Ghisonaccia:
- The Fiumorbo gorges — around thirty minutes away, an authentic Corsican mountain setting with pools to swim in. Perfect for a day in nature.
- Porto-Vecchio and its dream beaches — a little further south, the famous beaches of Palombaggia and Santa Giulia never fail to impress teens who love a beautiful photo.
- Corte, the mountain town — the citadel, the Restonica gorges and their natural pools offer a lovely cool break in the heart of the island.
- A section of the GR20 — for sporty families, a stage of the famous hiking trail is a memorable adventure to tell everyone about back home.
- A bike ride along the coast — the coastal cycle path lets you reach several beaches independently, an outing teenagers love to do as a group.
The beauty of our location in Ghisonaccia, in the middle of the east coast, is how easy it is to explore: the sea on one side, the mountains on the other, and a variety of landscapes that stops any routine from setting in. The beach one day, a canyon the next, a boat trip the day after: enough to keep a teenager hooked all week.
Where to stay with teenagers at Camping U Casone?
Travelling with teenagers is also a question of space. Gone are the days when the whole family fitted into a single tent: teens need their own bubble. Here, several options are perfectly suited.
Our mobile homes and chalets offer separate bedrooms, ideal for everyone to have their own corner. Our safari tents, those beautiful canvas tents set on a wooden deck, appeal to teens looking for a slightly more unusual stay, halfway between camping and comfort. For those who prefer the authentic experience, our pitches of over 100 m² welcome tents, caravans and motorhomes in the generous shade of the pines — plenty of room to put up an extra tent for the older ones.
And because a teenager never travels without their faithful four-legged companion, please note that dogs are welcome all season, including in our rental accommodation. So the whole tribe can make the trip.
📍 Did you know? Our campsite is open from 1st May to 8 October. For a stay with teenagers, June and September are golden periods: the sea is warm, all the activities are available, and the atmosphere is a little more peaceful than at the height of summer.
In short: Corsica, the antidote to teenage boredom
Between kayaking right from the campsite, canyoning in the hinterland, boat trips, endless beaches and pizza nights with friends, a teenager simply doesn’t have time to get bored in Corsica. Better still, they get a taste of freedom and connection with nature that often does them the world of good. And you, as parents, finally enjoy a holiday where everyone gets something out of it.
Here at U Casone, we love seeing these older children arrive a little reluctant and leave with stars in their eyes, golden skin and already counting the months until they come back. That’s the magic of Corsica’s east coast.
Want to give your teenagers a summer they’ll never forget? Join us in Ghisonaccia, between the pines, the canal and the turquoise sea.
